Posts = ceiling(sections) + 1, plus 1 per single gate and 2 per double-drive gate. Every post hole takes 2 sixty-pound fast-set bags.
Pick wood or chain-link, enter the run and height, add gates posts, rails, pickets, and concrete update live.
Wood rails = sections × rails per section × 1.05 in 8-ft stock 2 rails for 4-ft fence, 3 for 6-ft and up.
Pickets = (linear feet × 12) ÷ (picket width + ¼ in gap) × 1.10 cut waste. Chain-link swaps pickets and rails for 50-ft fabric rolls.
Pickets = L×12 ÷ (W + gap) → +10%
Pickets = (linear feet × 12) ÷ (picket width + ¼ in gap) × 1.10 cut waste. For 150 ft of privacy fence with 5.5 in pickets: (150 × 12) ÷ 5.75 = 313 × 1.10 = 345 pickets.
Posts = ceiling(sections) + 1, plus 1 per single gate and 2 per double-drive gate. A 150 ft run at 8-ft sections needs ceil(150 ÷ 8) + 1 = 20 posts, plus gate posts.
Two 60-lb fast-setting bags per hole is standard for 4x4 wood posts. A 20-post run needs 40 bags.
Chain-link fabric comes in 50-ft rolls, so 150 ft needs 3 rolls — plus posts at 8–10 ft O.C. and a top rail.
Rails = sections × rails per section × 1.05 in 8-ft stock. Use 2 rails for a 4-ft fence and 3 rails for 6 ft and up.
