Cut waste follows the layout: 5% straight plank, 10% angle/herringbone, 15% diagonal.
Enter room size, pick a flooring type and waste tier boxes, underlayment, and trim price themselves live.
Underlayment rolls are 100 sq ft; baseboard comes in 16-ft sticks with 10% for corners and cuts.
Enter L × W (not just sq ft) to unlock the perimeter trim calculation.
Boxes = area × waste ÷ box size
For 300 sq ft with 5% waste you need 315 sq ft of material; divided by 20 sq ft per box and rounded up, that is 16 boxes.
Add 5% for straight plank layouts, 10% for angled patterns or irregular rooms, and 15% for diagonal layouts. Multiply net area by (1 + waste), divide by box coverage, and round up.
Perimeter is 2 x (length + width); add 10% for corners and cuts, divide by 16-ft stick length, and round up to whole sticks.
Underlayment rolls cover 100 sq ft each — divide your waste-adjusted floor area by 100 and round up to full rolls.
Enter L x W, not just total square feet. The tool needs both dimensions to compute the room perimeter for the baseboard trim calculation.
